Rowing may not be the most interactive sport ever, but it's pretty neat to watch. The coxswains (the folks scrunched down at one end or the other of the boat) scream like demons and you can really get behind that kind of yelling. I was impressed with the volume produced sans megaphone. Seriously, who are these people, and what kind of voice training have they gone through?

Autumn is Here
Autumn makes a brief appearance in the Boston area. I'm from farther North, so I'm always a bit disappointed at the lack of colorful leaves, and tempted to become one of the leaf peeping tourists we used to make fun of.
I think it's finally here, though it won't be as spectacular as I always hope, more of a slow fade.

Apple Picking
It's a cliche, but I love to pick seasonal fruits. I like to gorge on apples while perfecting my flick-and-twist-wrist apple removal skills. I like to wear plaid and boots and tramp up and down the rows, trying (and failing) to find the Macintosh apples.
